Our team is internationally recognised for their experience in setting up community-led programs for sustainable development and conservation. The workshops will be strictly one hour long in duration and led by Anissa Lawrence. You can read about Anissa’s experience and our team, here.
The workshops are light and enjoyable. We find people who participate, leave with a sense of greater confidence and a positive understanding of how we can make a difference, without creating more time and anxiety.
There will be no talkfest about problems. What we want to hear from you, is your knowledge about where the most important assets are, that relate to your experience on the Bay, and how this benefits your lifestyle and livelihood.
From this, we can then build the tool (see below) that will enable you to see your values represented in the Bay’s overall system. This is the first and most important step towards community-management of our coast and seas.
About the project
Restore the Bay is a FUN, SIMPLE and EFFECTIVE to give our community its own say in how we value the Bay’s marine ecosystems and what they do for us. For instance, how do you feel when you connect with the Bay and how much impact does that have on your life and work? A lot? When we measure that, we can evaluate the importance of the landscape to our lives and economy. This becomes the basis for a community co-designed set of actions – and it takes as little as 25 minutes of your time, to make a big difference!
