Prize Winner & Winter Update

Hi there,

It’s been a little while since we’ve been in touch. At present we’re pulling in all the data that you’ve helped with and putting this into the system. We’re planning a get-together online sometime soon to show you what this looks like.

There are a couple of other bits of news. First off, we’d like to congratulate Felicity S, her partner and 9-year-old daughter for winning our trip to Phillip Island! They’ll be off in October for a weekend break, including a lovely family trip to the Penguin Parade. Thank you to all of you who entered and sorry we didn’t pick you this time.

Meanwhile, winter in the bay is a lovely time. The winds are mostly light northerly at the moment and it’s getting warmer, the water is clear and the coral is practically glowing green.

We’ll be back in touch later this month with more news.

Best wishes,

Simon Mustoe.

Green coral looking very healthy last weekend. The colours are a symbiosis between algae and its animal host, a polyp. The coral we have here is very slow growing and some of the small bommies we have near the shore could be 200 years old at least.
